Application:
Mechanical Snubbers permit gradual thermal movements of the piping or equipment to take place virtually unrestricted. However, when a sudden dynamic event attempts to displace the piping or equipment, the device instantly provides a damping force proportional to the magnitude of the disturbance.
Principle of Operation:
The Fronek A/DE DynA/Damp mechanical snubber’s principle of operation is simple and straight-forward. When a dynamic disturbance attempts to displace piping or equipment in either direction, an oscilatory type escapement mechanism restricts pipe movement to a constant velocity. The DynA/Damp snubber has all of the advantages of hydraulic dampening without any of the drawbacks – it is a non-locking, velocity limiting device, that is always engaged and responds to dynamic disturbances instantly.
Features:
  • Corrosion-resistant materials
  • 40 years virtually maintenance free operation
  • Continuous operation at 150°F with brief transients to 350°F
  • Instantaneous dynamic response
  • Radiation-resistant lubrication
  • Suitable for ASME Section III construction
